Google Cloud’s Natural Language API gets content classification and more granular sentiment analysis

Google Cloud announced two updates this morning to its Natural Language API. Specifically customers will now have entry to content classification and entity sentiment analysis. These options are significantly helpful for manufacturers and media corporations

For starters, GCP customers will now have the ability to tag content as corresponding with frequent matters like well being, leisure and regulation (cc: Henry). Today’s replace is making 700 classes out there for doc classification.

Google says this functionality is being focused at media and publishing organizations. These teams produce huge quantities of content that may be difficult to arrange. Content classification automates tagging by evaluating the content of a given doc in opposition to a pre-set listing of classification classes. These tags then turn out to be searchable and helpful for deeper analysis of traits in readership.

Beyond content classification, Google can also be releasing up to date sentiment analysis that permits prospects to parse the sentiment of particular person locations or issues. Traditionally sentiment analysis is carried out on a sentence of block of textual content. But this more granular analysis will permit customers to establish the sentiment of particular phrases. This presents a helpful use case for manufacturers all for capturing public opinion associated to merchandise or bodily areas.
