Scary ‘New Mutants’ trailer: ‘X-Men’ meets ‘Stranger Things’

When is a superhero film not a superhero film? When it is a superhero horror film! The first trailer for forthcoming Marvel comics adaptation “The New Mutants” is right here, and it sees Marvel’s characters heading in a horrifying new route.

Focusing on a younger solid in a scary state of affairs, the trailer rides the present wave of 1980s-esque teen horror seen in “Stranger Things” and “It”. In case you have been confused by the spooky tone, somebody handily tells us, “This isn’t a hospital… it’s a haunted house!”  

“New Mutants” is led by a solid of sizzling younger stars out of your favorite TV reveals, together with Maisie Williams from “Game Of Thrones” because the werewolf-like mutant Wolfsbane and Charlie Heaton from “Stranger Things” as Southern-fried speedster Cannonball. The solid additionally consists of Alice Braga, Anya Taylor-Joy and a scary washer.

In the Marvel comics, the New Mutants are a shifting staff of younger mutants learning underneath Professor X. The idea was coined by legendary X-Men author Chris Claremont and artist Bob McLeod in 1982.

The film adaptation is produced by Fox, so it ties in with the continuing X-Men large display movies, however not with the Marvel Cinematic Universe.  

“New Mutants” open worldwide on 13 April 2018.
